They are perfect for a walk through the nature, The Climiti Mounts are famous for landscape offered and for Castelluccio, the most important military medioeval monument.

.The Climiti mountains are a suggestive hill chain located in the territories of Melilli, Priolo Gargallo and Sortino and are the last strip of land of the Iblei mountains, before the Piana di Siracusa that overlooks the Valle dell’Anapo. They take their name from the Greek word klimax  (scale), due to their stepped form.

If you want to penetrate inside the nature for a restored walk, they are a perfect place.
The stupendous white calcareous rock, the beauty of the landscape, the natural cave and many caverns will give you the impression of a place that still lives an active and throbbing life.
Among these mountains you can come across a variety of colorful plant and animal species -almond trees, olive trees, carob trees - dominate these places and the smell of the thyme fills the air with its freshness.
Among the Climiti Mountains, it is possible for the traveler to look up at the sky and see the elegance of the peregrine falcon or even the lanner falcon, a very rare falcon in Italy.

There is more. In the mountain range of Priolo's area Castelluccio of Climiti Mounts arises, called also Castelluccio of Priolo, it is considered the most important medioeval military monument.
Is it thought that his structure was built around the 1000 year, even if the news about his real existence are dated only from 1300.
Augusta Raimondo III of Moncada expanded and fortified the monument in order to control better the area during the battles between locals and spanish. It was destroyed almost entirely from the terrible earthquake of 1693.
Admiring Castelluccio, yours eyes will shine not only for what these remains tell and express, but also for the beautiful view that you'll see: the souther coast of Siracusa will open to you until you see the Etna.
