The hidden Siracusa

Every Sicilian city has a secret side, hidden from view which, once discovered, leaves you breathless.
Siracusa is no exception. Do not miss the opportunity to get to know its hidden face.
Catacombs, old air-raid shelters and underground spiritual baths, the network of Syracusan underground tunnels is second only to those of the Eternal City.
Starting from the hypogeum of Piazza Duomo, which is accessed from a door near the archbishop's garden, always continuing to Ortigia, in the crypt kept under the Church of St. Philip the Apostle, and then reaching the miqweh in via G.B. Alagona.
In the Borgata district, from the basilica in Piazza S. Lucia you enter the catacombs of Santa Lucia al Sepolcro. The catacomb of S. Giovanni was built on an ancient Greek aqueduct, used to house the tombs of families.
Conclude the visit to the catacomb of Vigna Cassia, the largest Sicilian catacomb, and to the Latomia dei Cappuccini. The oldest Syracusan latomia will enchant you with its rocks and gardens.
Once you have visited Ortigia, we recommend that you continue with the Syracuse to love shuttles. The closest stop is at Belvedere S. Giacomo.
The service is free for under 13 and over 65.
